Safety data sheet template: SDS in Word in 23 EU languages (REACH Annex II)

A hazardous substance or mixture sold in the EU needs a safety data sheet in the official language of each country it is sold in. Enter your products once and choose the languages. The kit writes one Word file per product and language with the 16 sections and every subsection of REACH Annex II, worded as each language's own version of the Regulation prints them, and fills in what you typed.

Checked against the sources on 26 October 2026

Languages of the sheets

A sheet in the official language of each EU country where you sell (REACH Article 31(5)). Headings and statements come from each language's own version of the law.

Supplier of the safety data sheet
With its hours, for example: +49 30 1234567, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00. An official advisory body counts too.

Product 1

Add each hazard class and category your classification gives. The kit does not classify: section 2.2 follows from what you add.

Text for the other subsections

Write what you have, in the language of the sheet. Anything left empty prints TO COMPLETE. The same text goes into every language you chose, so for several languages write in each language's file afterwards.

Nothing you type is sent anywhere. Your business details stay in this browser for next time.

What is in the files

  • per product and language, a safety data sheet with the 16 headings and the subheadings of Annex II Part B to REACH as replaced by Regulation (EU) 2020/878, in the wording of that language version (consolidated text of 22 June 2026);
  • section 1 with your product identifier, CAS and EC numbers or UFI, supplier details and emergency number; section 3.1 or 3.2 only, as Part B says, with your components;
  • section 2.1 with your classification, and 2.2 with the label elements of CLP Annex I for it: pictograms, signal word, hazard statements and the precautionary statements you ticked, worded from the same language version (the same rules as the free CLP label generator);
  • section 16 with the full text of every hazard and precautionary statement used;
  • pages numbered as page / pages (Annex II 0.3.2), and a read-me in English.

Checks the kit makes

A CAS or EC number whose check digit fails, a REACH registration number not in the form 01-NNNNNNNNNN-NN-NNNN, a UFI not in four groups of four, a UFI whose check character fails, or a date that is not a date is printed as TO COMPLETE with the reason. Two categories of one hazard class are refused, not merged. Every subsection you left empty prints TO COMPLETE, so nothing is left out silently.

Languages

Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish. Headings, the hazard and precautionary statements, the signal words and the label words are read from each language version of REACH and CLP, never translated. Irish has no consolidated text and is not offered. Text you write for sections 4 to 16 goes into every language as you wrote it.

What the kit does not do

It does not classify a substance or mixture, compute concentration limits or check that a classification is right: that is your classification under CLP. It does not write sections 4 to 16 for you or say that a sheet complies. Annex II asks for a competent person to prepare the sheet; the kit gives that person the structure and the official wording in every language.

Nothing you type leaves your browser; the files are built on your device. Templates, not legal advice.
